Tonmeister: Industry seminars & workshops

We feel that it's important that Tonmeister students are in frequent contact with leading industry practitioners. The placement year is ideal for this, as working in the industry for a year is the best way to make contacts and demonstrate your skills and abilities to potential employers.

Throughout the course, Tonmeisters are taught practical skills by our tutors and associate lecturers: individuals with many years of experience on the most prestigious projects and with leading employers. In addition to this, we have a series of visiting seminars and workshops, where we invite individuals who are leading exponents of their craft to tell our students about their experiences.

This gives Tonmeisters a chance to learn tips and techniques from the best in the industry, to ask questions about current practice and how to get started in related careers, and to make contacts and talk directly with potential employers. The seminars also introduce Tonmeisters to a wider range of jobs in the audio industry, beyond the usual studio work. So far we have had seminars on everything from composition to hardware design, and most things in-between.
